Janet Lea Lester Jackson, age 65, resident of La Grange, Tennessee and wife of Paul Douglas Jackson, Jr., departed this life Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at her home.
Janet was born March 6, 1959 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Lester and Ada Maxine Hester Lester. She graduated from Elliston Baptist Academy and continued her education at Memphis State University. Janet was married May 21, 1978 to Paul Douglas Jackson, Jr. Alongside her husband, she was the co-owner and operator of both General Fire Service and Jackson Real Estate Company.
Janet was a longtime parish member of Immanuel Church. Along with her husband, Doug, she was always ready to serve and was a special member of the Alter Guild, Flower Guild and often furnished Immanuel Church with magnolias. She always gave selflessly to her friends, family and church community. Janet was a loving and committed wife, mother and grandmother. She was always teaching her grandchildren new lessons, manners and how to have a good sense of humor.
A visitation for Janet will be from 10 to 11 A.M. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Immanuel Church in LaGrange, Tennessee. Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Immanuel Church. Interment will follow in LaGrange Cemetery with a reception to follow the burial.
